Brian Clemens is a London-based jazz pianist, arranger, and bandleader originally from Los Angeles. After earning his master’s degree in California and studying under Grammy Award-winning pianist and arranger Bill Cunliffe, he established himself in Los Angeles’ vibrant music scene. He has headlined renowned venues across the US and Europe, including Herb Alpert’s Vibrato Jazz Grill, Istanbul’s Nardis Jazz Club, Barcelona’s Jamboree, and London’s PizzaExpress Live Soho. Fluent in jazz, pop, R&B, Latin, and more, Brian is equally at home as a solo pianist or leading ensembles.
Now based in London, Brian leads his acclaimed jazz band, Luminoso, contributing both his songwriting and direction as pianist and music director. He also directs the Brian Clemens Jazz Orchestra, currently touring UK theatres with the movie-themed production Songs of the Silver Screen. In addition to his concert work, Brian performs regularly at leading London venues such as The Ritz, Harrods, and The Landmark Hotel, and is a sought-after pianist for private events, celebrations, and teaching engagements.
In 2023, Brian released his debut album Beneath the Blue, featuring dynamic big band and small group arrangements of standards and original works with some of Los Angeles’ top jazz vocalists. The album earned praise from All About Jazz. In early 2024, he followed with a live album recorded at London’s PizzaExpress Jazz Club Soho, featuring vocalist Francesca Confortini. This marked the launch of Luminoso, setting the foundation for their growing acclaim. The group’s debut studio album, 3-2-1!, is scheduled for release in early 2026.
